The great thing about gratitude is that we can start practicing right away. Because of our busy schedules, it’s good to take 5 minutes out of the day to reflect on life and remember our blessings and what’s important. We’re so distracted by our many priorities that, we often times forget to prioritize ourselves. Here’s why practicing gratitude is so crucial.
1. Gratitude promotes a focused mind
Stress, anxiety, and negativity can plague our lives on a daily basis. When we take time to reflect, the world pauses for a moment and we’re able to collect ourselves and take back control. We can count our blessings, think about our friends, families, our passions, our work and what we’ve done so far. Everything helps to keep us grounded, helps us appreciate what we already have, and helps us to know we’re on the right rack on our path of life.
2. Gratitude creates an emotionally positive mood
In being able to appreciate our blessings, we’re able to maintain a positive mood. Constantly thinking about our busy schedules and priorities can make us emotionally depressed. There’s probably too much too do, maybe we’re not making the progress we want, or we just can’t seem to make things work. Gratitude isn’t going to make these problems disappear but, it will help us deal with our roadblocks in a more positive way. We learn to live with our hardships and face them head on with a better mindset.
3. Gratitude attracts similar energies
Everything in our universe is made up of energy. When we practice gratitude, we have a focused mind and emotionally positive mood. The way we feel sends out vibrations and we attract others with similar vibrations. This is the Law of Attraction. Gratitude aids in helping us accept our problems and believe we can overcome them and change our reality. It’s not enough to just “think” we can change our situation. We need to think and feel that this is possible.
4. Gratitude acts as motivation
Following your passions and goals take time. There are many steps involved that include lots of failures and successes. It’s not an easy process and can discourage anyone from continuing their pursuit. Gratitude helps us realize that we’re human in that we can’t accomplish our goals instantly. Being grateful for the small successes fuels us to achieve more until we accomplish our ultimate goal.
Gratitude has lots of benefits and truthfully, makes for a better life all around. It's a powerful tool that'll transform all areas of your life. It’s simple, easy, and takes a few minutes out of your day. Try incorporating it in your daily routine!
